The 2017 championship season continued at Levengrove Park, Dumbarton where an enormous crowd enjoyed the Scottish Championships despite weather which was at times challenging for both players and spectators.

123 bands and 40 Drum Majors made the trip to Dumbarton to compete for the title of Scottish champion in their respective grades.

The Adult Drum Major title was won by Lauren Abraham from Ballybriest, this was Lauren's first title in the Adult Grade since stepping up from the Juvenile Grade. Gibb Fraser from Coalburn IOR won the Juvenile grade adding to his European title and Kathy Hunter from Manorcunningham won the Junior grade.

The Grade 1 title went to Inveraray and District from Scotland, under the leadership of Pipe Major Stuart Liddell they secured their third title of the 2017 season after winning the British and European titles. St Laurence O'Toole under Leading Drummer Stephen Creighton lifted the drumming title taking their second drumming title of the 2017 season.

Field Marshal Montgomery took the runners-up spot finishing two points behind Inveraray and District. St Laurence O'Toole, Scottish Power, Shotts and Dykehead Caledonia and Police Scotland Fife completed the Grade 1 prize list.

Grade 4A Band - 3rd Battalion The Royal Regiment of Scotland
Grade 4A Drumming - Tullylagan

Grade 4B Band - Kilmarnock
Grade 4B Drumming - Kilmarnock

Grade Novice A Band - Oban High School
Grade Novice A Drumming - Ross and Cromarty Pipes and Drums School

Grade Novice B Band - Oban High School
Grade Novice B Drumming - Bucksburn and District Novice
